BRACES

Metal Braces

Our Clinic has grown to provide a world class facility for the treatment of tooth loss, dental cosmetics and advanced restorative dentistry.

Metal brackets are the ones that are most frequently used. They appear as small metal buttons that are glued to the front of each tooth. These tend to be less expensive than other types of brackets. Additionally, they can be made colorful with ligature rubber bands that come in a wide range of colors.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic brackets are made of composite materials. They are very strong and generally do not stain. Adults like to choose ceramic because they "blend in" with the teeth and are less noticeable than metal. The ligatures (tiny rubber bands) that hold the arch wire on to the ceramic brackets are often white or clear. This looks great at first, but the ligatures can stain. Unless you eat a lot of curry, smoke, or drink a lot of black coffee, this generally isn't a problem. Note that the ligatures are changed each time you get an adjustment -- usually, monthly. It's only the ligatures that stain, not the brackets themselves!

Invisible Braces

And you feel stuck because you do not want to wear braces due to pain, irritation, discomfort and social inhibitions. Now there is an effective, safe and clinically proven cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle. So if you are planning to correct your malocclusion without any discomfort or social inhibitions, this is the right choice for you. Invisible Aligners also offer predictable results visualization even before the treatment begins

Cosmetic dentistry procedures involve a certain set of procedures that can help you improve your overall facial aesthetics along with your oral health. Clear aligners form very much a part of cosmetic dentistry procedures to enhance esthetics along with oral health.

These clear plastic aligners not only gradually correct the alignment of your teeth, but also offer an invisible solution so that no one can know that you’re aligning or straightening your teeth.

All you have to do is wear a series of clear wafer thin transparent removable aligners, which gently guide your teeth from their present to the desired position to give you the perfect smile you always desired!

Clear aligner provides new improved quality aligners through its unique proprietary process which provides a hygienic, convenient and a clear solution for the correction of malocclusion without having to wear brackets and wires.

Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces are placed much like conventional braces, with the exception of ligature: No elastic or rubber bands or metal ties are present because they are not needed. Instead, special clips or brackets are used to help the archwire move your teeth into place. The clips allow greater freedom of tooth movement; thereby they might reduce the discomfort that is sometimes associated with traditional ligature. A simple adjustment is made to the brackets or clips, which saves time and causes less discomfort during routine visits with your orthodontist.

What are Self-Ligating Braces?

In the case of your more traditional braces, the orthodontist uses elastics to keep the archwire on the bracket. In self-ligating braces, the archwire is held in place by the bracket itself by closing a small, spring-loaded door. Although the popularity of this bracket style has climbed over the last 10 years or so, the system itself has been around since the mid-1930s. There are numerous manufacturers of this type of bracketing system. Here are some of the facts you should consider before making a decision about whether to choose self-ligating braces.

Potential Advantages of Self-Ligating Braces Better Efficiency at Visits

Because closing the door (or gate) on the braces is generally a speedier process than putting elastics around each bracket to hold the archwires in place (as in the case of traditional braces), patients will be in and out of the office quicker.

Reduced Discomfort

There is some evidence that suggests as there without the use of ligating elastic bands to attach the archwire to the bracket (as you see in traditional brace setups), the wire in the bracket slots minimizes the friction and as such the force required to move teeth. This in turn is believed to reduce the discomfort patients might experience. Again, it is important to note that it is a reduction in general soreness, it doesn’t completely remove it.

Faster Treatment

There have been claims made that self-ligating braces have helped to shorten treatment time by up to six months, but it can be dependent on what type of malocclusion is being addressed as well as the severity of it.

Stick Free

One of the annoyances experienced by the typical braces-wearer is that the latex material on the elastics and rubber bands is notorious for trapping food, and providing the perfect environment for plaque to form. Self-ligating braces eliminate the need for elastics, so those wearers who might not be as fastidious with there cleaning and flossing will experience much cleaner smiles during their treatment.

Appearance Options

Self-ligating braces come in both metal and clear brackets, so those concerned about the appearance of their braces can choose a less conspicuous route.

Potential Downsides to Self-Ligating Braces Higher Cost

Not surprisingly, the more advanced bracket system that comprises self-ligating braces are more expensive than traditional metal brackets.

Not Totally Transparent

Although self-ligating braces come with the option of clear brackets, there still is a visible metal wire that runs across the upper and lower teeth.

Initially Irritating

Though relatively discomfort-free for most of your treatment, there is an adjustment period that many patients experience when the orthodontist first applies them (as well as when they are adjusted) which can last for several days.
